Americans pride themselves on what they make. Or have made, considering the current state of manufacturing in the good old U-S-of-A any more.
But there is a huge difference between something being made versus something being created. “Wait,” I hear you say, “what the heck is the difference?”
I propose that things are made but ideas are created.
The beauty of looking at this this way is this: If you create/make anything, to determine whether you created something or made something, the solution is simple. If you or someone else has less of anything after this thing comes into being, something has just been “made.” Cars get made. Food gets made. Houses get made. (You now have a house, but some lumber yard now has less wood, get it?)
But if, after this thing is “born” so to speak, you and someone else BOTH have gained, then you have created.
Creations are shared and increase everyone. Your ideas increase both you and others, with nobody losing or giving up anything.
I hereby commit to creating as often as I can, all day long. Hmmmm, sounds like the right mind is going to win time of possession again! I can dig it! What a great idea!
