The Dark Ages didn’t leave a whole lot of traces. It is sort of an empty period in human history, after Greece and Rome, but before the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, and of course our wonderful modern world with all of its trappings.
One book I read mentioned that there were some quotes that seem to indicate that those few hundred years we call “Dark” may have been indicative of a shift in human consciousness.
“My God has left my shoulder” is the type of quote at the close of the Dark Ages that may indicate that humans stopped being tuned in to the ”right mind” or “holy spirit” that they had somehow been automatically “tuned into” during the “Dark Ages.”
If this is true, then the “Dark Ages” may have been a very peaceful time, when more people as a percentage of the population than any time since may have actually felt inner peace, so hence had less need to make war and be macho and prove their manhood like they have been doing for the last, oh, 1,200 years!
Just a thought. What would the world be like if everyone was tuned in to the right mind all at once? Hmmmmm………..
